Expanded PVC Foam Sheet
The most common tradenames for this product are Versacel(r)
(formerly called Trovicel(r) ), Sintra(r), Celtec(r), and Komatex(r).
These foam sheets are probably the mostversatile
of all the graphics product. Among the key properties are:

This ease of fabrication is why this product has shown such dramatic growth. PVC foam can be cut with saws or knives, drilled, bonded by adhesives or hot air welding, heat bent or thermoformed, routed, machined, nailed, riveted, and on and on. It can be silkscreened, painted, or used with vinyl letters. All of this versatility makes it a natural for:

Black 'n White
This unique translucent black acrylic sheet appears as a bright white when illuminated, and appears opaque black when unilluminated. This makes it ideal for individually illuminated letters with maximum visibility in daytime or nighttime. The letter would be black during the day, and bright white at night. Secret signs, which display only when internally illuminated, can also be made easily with Black 'n White(r) along with opaque films. Typical messages would be "No vacancy," "Garage Full," and "Danger." Black 'n White(r) comes with a matte finish, which strengthens the black color in the unlit state. Masking is adhesive polyethylene on both sides.

Letter Trim
This product is best known by the trade names Jewelite(r) and Silvatrim(r). This is a flexible plastic strip that can be formed around the edge of a cut out letter. It adds depth and dimension to any style of letter, and also provides a way to attach the letter face to a fabricated aluminum cabinet. Letter trim can be solvent cemented to both acrylic and polycarbonate letters.

Foam Boards
Foam boards typically refer to polystyrene foam with a smooth material laminated to the surfaces. These types of boards are extremely light weight, stiff, easily painted, screened, decorated, and are inexpensive. They come in several basic types of laminated surfaces.

High Impact Polystyrene
HIPS is a versatile material. It can be silk screened, die cut, thermoformed, and is inexpensive.
It is most common in white with a matte finish on both sides. This makes it ideal for signs. It is
available in thin gauges (.010 through .250). It is stocked as 40" x 72" and 48" x 96" sheet size,
but is available run to size in relatively small quantities. Custom colors are also available in
smaller runs. It has a low thermoforming temperature allowing for quick cycle times. It is also
water resistant.

Fluted Polypropylene Sheet
This is a corrugated sheet that offers very good stiffness due to the ribs. It is treated to
make it ink receptive and represents a very low cost option for both indoor and outdoor
signs. It is one of the lightest in weight and water resistant. It is also used for tote boxes and
packaging. The best know names for this product are Cor-ex(r), Coroplast(r), and Plasticor(r).
