"High Temperature Plastic Metal" Delrin (acetal resin engineering plastic) has better moisture resistance than nylon. The premium GP grade, (acetal copolymer) corrects any porosity or swelling issues. Like other mechanical flat goods, even large shapes, (sheets, rods, tubes) are produced by extrusion. FDA approved for contact with food, but it still has properties like low friction, and self lubrication. It is comparitively lighteweight and low cost. The material's strength is sufficient for plastic parts like bolts. |
